Anthony ‘Tony’ F. Russo Sr.

Rockwell engineer had son in West Middlesex

---- — Anthony “Tony” F. Russo Sr. of New Castle went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 1, 2012. He was 81.

Mr. Russo was born June 12, 1930, in Mahoningtown, a son of John J. and Theresa Izzo Russo.

He graduated from New Castle High School in 1948 and further educated himself at Youngstown State University.

Tony was a industrial engineer at Rockwell International for 27 years.

He was a member of St. Camillus Church, New Castle.

Tony enjoyed bowling, cooking, eating and had a lifelong love of automobiles. He also spent many years doing small engine and lawn mower repair. It is rumored that he singlehandedly supported the automobile sales industry in the New Castle area.

He is survived by: his sons and daughters-in-law, John J. Russo and Mary Russo, North Huntingdon, Pa.; Anthony F. Russo Jr. and Mary Anne Russo, West Middlesex; and Paul F. Russo and Rebecca Russo, New Castle; a daughter, Roseann Russo Yoho, New Castle; grandchildren, Teresa and her husband Tristan Lucchetti, Marie Russo and Angela Russo; great-grandchildren, Rian and Michaelyn Wimer; siblings, Mary Calabrese, Rose Evanowski and Irene Scaramazza; the Rev. Francis Russo, Washington D.C.; the Rev. Reginald Russo, Pittsburgh; and Vincent Russo; brother-in-law, Frank DeLuca Jr. and his wife Andrea; and sister-in-law, Louise DeLuca.

He also leaves behind his special friend and companion, Darlene Bovo.

Tony was predeceased by the love of his life and wife of 49 years, Marie C. DeLuca Russo; his parents; and his son-in-law, Dale W. Yoho.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. Monday (3-5-12) in St. Camillus Church, New Castle, with the Rev. Thomas Lewandowski, with the Rev. Reginald Russo and the Rev. Francis Russo, both brothers of Tony, concelebrating.

Interment: St. Lucy Cemetery, New Castle.
