Welder was Mason, loved hunting, ice fishing

---- — Brian K. Krauss, New Castle, passed away on Monday afternoon, Aug. 19, 2013, in Pymatuning Township. He was 37.

Mr. Krauss was born Jan. 3, 1976, in Farrell, a son of John and Beverly Watson Krauss.

Brian was a 1995 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage.

A certified welder, he was taught his trade by his grandfather and dad.

He was employed as a welder for Wheatland Tube for 14 years and owned Krauss Portable welding for 13 years.

Brian married the former Susan McDowell on July 17, 1999, she survives. Brian and Susan were members of Bethel EBC Presbyterian Church, Enon Valley.

He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 411 of Enon Valley.

Brian was a man of faith who cherished his family and friends. His hobbies and pastimes included hunting, farming and reading. But he loved to ice fish and could never find enough time to do it.

Brian’s life will be forever remembered and cherished by his loving wife, Susan; his father and stepmom, John and Susan Krauss, and his mother and stepdad, Beverly and John Dillon, all of Hermitage; a sister, Sherry Cochran, Fayetteville, N.C.; and a grandmother, Charlene Krauss, Hermitage.

Brian also leaves his in-laws, Jerry and Kathy McDowell; a brother-in-law, Jeff McDowell; and sister-in-law, Sheryl McKee and her husband Bill, all New Castle; and lastly, Brian’s nephews, Corey Cochran and Scott McKee; and nieces, Carley Cochran, Leigh-Ann McKee and Katie McKee.

Brian was preceded in death by his grandfather, Albert J. Krauss, and grandparents, Clarence William and Ruth Watson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Brian’s two favorite organizations, Bethel EBC Church, 154 Petersburg Road, Enon Valley, PA 16120; and through the funeral home to Mohawk FFA (Future Farmers of America) in care of Mohawk High School, Bessemer, PA 16112.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Mark Tippin officiating.
