Esther M. Ayibor

Greenville church member was missionary to Ghana

- — Mrs. Ayibor was born Jan. 13, 1920, in Fredonia to Irvin E. and Carrie Heilman Reimold.

She was a 1938 graduate of the former Fredonia Vocational High School; had attended the former Shenango Valley Commercial Institute, Sharon; was a 1948 graduate of Schauffler College, Cleveland; and had received her master’s degree in 1959 from Eden Theological Seminary, Webster Groves, Mo.

Esther was a missionary in Ghana, West Africa, for 33 years.

She was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, Greenville, where she had been active with the mission committee, and had served as a moderator of First Presbyterian Women.

Her husband, Tim K. Ayibor, whom she married Aug. 14, 1971, passed away Dec. 29, 1996.

She is survived by three nieces, Nancy Hoffacker and her husband Thomas, Hermitage; Wendy Zwally and her husband Randy, Dillsburg, Pa.; and Roberta Reimold, Fredonia; and three nephews, Dale Reimold, Fredonia; Charles Reimold and his wife Cheryl, Rex, Ga.; and Ellsworth Brown and his wife Flora, Abilene, Texas.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Paul Leonard Reimold, Clinton Reimold and Robert Reimold; and a sister, Gertrude Brown.

Service: Funeral and committal service at 11 a.m. Thursday in Westminster Chapel of the church with the Rev. David A. Dobi, pastor, officiating.

Interment: Delaware Township Cemetery.
