Shirley J. Keryan

Ex-Wheatland woman was active in Grace Lutheran


- — Shirley J. Keryan of Eden, Utah, formerly of Wheatland, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Thursday (11-21-13) in Moose Lodge, Eden, after an extended illness. She was 83.

She was born June 1, 1930 in Sharon to William Moder and Minnie Feigert Moder.

She graduated from Farrell High School in 1948.

In her earlier years she worked as an office assistant in a doctor’s office and then was married and became a homemaker and mother.

She and George Keryan were married Nov. 10, 1951. He passed away April 5, 2013.

For many years she taught Sunday school at the former Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Farrell.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery, cooking and being involved with the German Ladies Aide Society.

She is survived by two sons, Philip Keryan and his wife Patricia, Hermitage; Paul Keryan and his wife Connie, Liberty, Utah; and four grandchildren, Brandon Keryan and Ethan Keryan, both Hermitage; Felicia Keryan Pasquerilla, Pittsburgh; and Nisha Keryan Haley, Duvall, W.Va.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Moder and Robert Moder.
