Beloved Disciple member enjoyed busy life at home

Erla Althea Como, Grove City, formerly of the Village of Leesburg, passed away at 7:31 p.m. Thursday (3-28-13) in Good Samaritan Hospice; Cabot, Butler County. She was 83.

Mrs. Como was born in New Castle on June 20, 1929, a daughter of Harry Ike and Mary Elizabeth Smiley Stull.

She was a member of the Church of Beloved Disciple, Grove City. She loved doing things in her home; spending time with her dog Spike, doing yard work, mowing, working with flowers, and crocheting.

Survivors include three daughters, Teri L. Ketler and her husband Bruce, Grove City, Sissy Molnar and her husband Bert of Renfrew, Butler County, Sharon V. Gilliland and  her husband John, Grove City; a son, Danny E. Como and his wife Connie, Grove City; a  son-in-law, Paul Alessio, Grove City; a brother, Edward J. and his wife Shirley Smiley, Portsmouth, Va; and 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She married Danny Como on June 27, 1946; he preceded him in death on May 17, 1995.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband; a daughter, Linda Alessio; and a   brother, Henry C. Smiley.

Calling hours:  Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. (3-31-13) at the SMITH FUNERAL HOME, Village of Leesburg, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, Pa., 16156 and 10 a.m. Sunday at the Church of Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center Street Ext., Grove City, Pa. 16127.

Service:  11:00 a.m. Monday (4-1-13) , at the church with Father Michael P. Allison presiding.
