As a young adult, Irene worked in the lab at what is now Sharon Regional Health System.

In 1954, she married Edwin Racketa Sr.

During their married life, they raised four children together.

Irene worked for General Motors, Packard Electric Division, from 1969 to her retirement in 1993.

Irene enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her lifelong friends, Norma Koss, Ruth Buckley, and the late Vivian Pisegna.

Family meant the world to our Mom.

A special uncle, Martin Dilk, also preceded her in death.

Her four children survive: Gail Kirk of Salt Lake City, Utah, Susan Stefan and her husband, William of Virginia Beach, Va., and Jill Lindey and Ed Racketa Jr. both of Hermitage.
