Grove City woman had career as executive secretary

GROVE CITY — Vivian A. Gregg of Orchard Manor, Grove City, passed away 5 a.m. Saturday (9-28-13) at home after a brief illness. She was 91.

She was born Feb. 14, 1922, in Ellwood City to Stephen and Anna Roth Schuster.

Mrs. Gregg married Edward R. Gregg on Sept. 14, 1951. He passed away on Nov. 25, 1994.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Grove City.

She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1939 and was class secretary.

Mrs. Gregg achieved 140 words per minute shorthand proficiency and had a career as a secretary. She was executive secretary to the general manager of Matthews Conveyor, Ellwood City, prior to raising a family.

She lived in Ellwood City prior to moving to Grove City in 1999.

Surviving are: two sons, David E. Gregg and his wife Carol in Champaign, Ill.; and Thomas W. Gregg and his wife Jane in Grove City; six grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband Andy Cummins, West Lafayette, Ind.; Tucker Gregg and his wife Kelly, Emsworth; Anna Gregg, Grove City; Christopher Gregg, Grove City; Ryan Gregg, Champaign, Ill.; and Christian Greg, Champaign, Ill.; and a sister,  Dorothy Smith, Phoenix.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three brothers, Stephen A., Carl F. and Emil E. Schuster.

Calling hours: 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday (10-1-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Funeral: 10 a.m. Wednesday (10-2-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Gail Zackrison, pastor of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Grove City, officiating.

Burial: Locust Grove Cemetery, Ellwood City, with a committal service at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday (10-2-13) at the cemetery.
