GCC retiree belonged to East Main Presbyterian

— Helen R. Gilmore of Grove Manor, formerly of Carrie Way, both Grove City, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2013. She was 98.

Mrs. Gilmore was born Nov. 2, 1914, in Cedar Grove,  Washington County, to Peter and Barbara Racz.

She was a graduate of Elizabeth (Pa.) High School and attended what was then California (Pa..) State Teachers College.

She was a member of East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City, and belonged to the Presbyterian Women’s Association and the Tri Fidelis Sunday School Class.

She retired in 1986 after 13 years as head resident in North Hall of Grove City College.

Her husband, whom she married Nov. 12, 1937, is deceased.

Surviving are her daughters, Carol Lambert, California; Betty Tyksinski, upstate New York; Jane Muhich, California; and Myra Blockston and her husband Larry, Delaware; and six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two earth angels, Betty Tallerico and Carol Yeager.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a daughter, Sally Pallack; and a sister, Elizabeth Stieman.

Memorial contributions may be made to East Main Presbyterian Church, 120 E. Main St.; or Grove City College, 100 Campus Drive, both Grove City, PA 16127.

Service: Private family services were held in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME Inc., 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Burial: Following at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Meadville.
