C.B. radio enthusiast enjoyed cooking, TV, music


- — Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery for Emily M. Ashby of Clepper Manor, 959 E. State St., Sharon. She passed away peacefully at 4:40 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after an extended illness. She was 74.

Mrs. Ashby was born Nov. 18, 1938, in Cortland.

She enjoyed cooking, watching TV, listening to music and talking on the C.B. (citizen’s band) radio under the handle of “Rubber Ducky.”

She was the widow of William Ashby.

She is survived by numerous friends including Estella Watkins and Norma Root; and her fiancé, William Diekbrader, all Sharon.
