Donald E. Lewis

Man skilled at mechanical, electrical repairs


- — Donald E. Lewis of Sharpsville passed away peacefully at 12:25 p.m. Thursday (10-31-13) in Clepper Manor, Sharon, after an extended illness. He was 49.

Mr. Lewis was born Dec. 9, 1963, in Punxsutawney, a son of Donald E. and Helen J. Custer Lewis.

Don was raised in Sharon and graduated from Sharon High School in 1982.

He worked as a press operator from 1989 to 2008 for U.S. Can Corp., Hubbard. In his younger years, he was employed by the former Sawhill Tubular Division of Armco Inc., Sharon, and Giant Eagle in Brookfield.

He attended Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sharon.

Don enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his niece and nephew. He also enjoyed camping, deer hunting and working in the yard. He was extremely proficient at repairing anything mechanical or electrical.

He is survived by: his mother, Helen J. Lewis, Sharon; and his sister, Lorinda A. Miller and her husband Todd, Brookfield, and their children, Ashleigh L. and Zachary A. Miller.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Lewis, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers, Don’s family suggests memorial contributions being made in his memory to American Heart Association, 840 Southwestern Run Road, Youngstown, OH 44514, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday (11-4-13) in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. David Coxson, pastor of Corner House Christian Church, Hubbard Township, Trumbull County, officiating.

Interment: Oak Lawn Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
