Willis J. Allison

Construction company owner was WWII veteran


- — Willis J. Allison of Grove City died at 1 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, in his residence after a brief illness. He was 88.

Mr. Allison was born Aug. 13, 1925, in Cherry Township, Butler County, to Jessie May Christy Allison and Howard F. Allison.

He married Genevieve T. Reeder on June 3, 1948. She passed away on May 12, 1998.

Mr. Allison owned and operated Allison Construction Co. in Grove City until he he retired in 1991.

He was a Protestant.

Mr. Allison served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed in the Philippines. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 519, Grove City, and the former Grove City Elks Lodge.

He is survived by: six children, Deborah Janecek and her husband John, Mountain Top, Pa.; Melody Allison, Grove City; Jeffrey Allison, Chicago; Kimberly Campbell and her husband Mike, Gibsonia, Pa.; Mark Allison, Las Vegas; and Robin Buzzelli, Grove City; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four sisters, including his twin, Willa Mae Allison, New Wilmington; Claridel Abbott, Towanda, Pa.; Verna Zedreck, West Sunbury, Pa.; and Pearl Stark, Bolivar, N.Y.: and two brothers, Charles Allison and his wife Martha, Ellwood City; and Bob Allison, Dunedin, Fla.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Allison was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Hogg, and two brothers Guy and Wayne Allison.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Allison’s name to the American Cancer Society.

Service: Funeral at 11 a.m. Friday (12-27-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Nadia Mullin, granddaughter of Mr. Allison, officiating.

Burial: Crestview Memorial Park, Grove City.
