Former Grove City woman attended Beloved Disciple

- — Sara Marie Thompson “Sally” Darcangelo, Bay Tree Center, Palm Harbor, Fla., formerly of Oakland Avenue. Grove City, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, after an extended illness. She was 88.

Sally was born an only child on June 14, 1925, in Grove City, a daughter of Carl and Marie Thompson.

Sally married Eugene “Gene” Darcangelo on July 18, 1942; he passed away March 14, 2005. Sally and Gene lived in Grove City until 1989. In 1989, after Gene retired from the former Cooper-Bessemer in Grove City, they moved with their beloved dog Scampy to Largo, Fla.

Sally was of the Methodist faith, but faithfully attended Church of the Beloved Disciple Church with her husband and family, when she lived in Grove City.

Sally leaves: two sons, William E Darcangelo, husband of Sylvia, of LaFayette Tenn.; and Alan A. Darcangelo, husband of Tammy, of Grove City; a daughter, Jeanne Darcangelo Knauff, wife of Tim, Palm Harbor Fla.; a brother-in-law, Alfred Darcangelo, Seminole, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Bell, Richardson, Texas; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; a great-grandson; eight great-stepgrandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and her dog, Scampy.

Mrs. Eugene “Gene” (Sara Marie Thompson “Sally”), 88, Bay Tree Center, Palm Harbor, Fla., formerly of Oakland Avenue, Grove City.

A memorial service will be held at a future date in Grove City.
