Dorothy Jane Morrin

D’Onofrio’s retiree was member of Notre Dame

- — Dorothy Jane Morrin of Hermitage passed away peacefully of natural causes Sunday afternoon, May 11, 2014, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 84.

Mrs. Morrin was born Oct. 9, 1929, in Kremis, Delaware Township, one of eight children born to William J. and Ruby Sterling Stainbrook.

A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of Hickory High School.

Dorothy was a familiar face at D’Onofrios Food Center, Hermitage. She started as a cashier and later worked in its meat department, retiring with 20 years of service. In her early years, she worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp.

She and her husband were charter members of Church of Notre Dame, Hermitage.

A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, she loved to cook and play bingo and enjoyed arts and crafts in her spare time.

Her husband, Thomas E. Morrin, whom she married June 14, 1952, survives at home.

She also leaves: a daughter, Kris A. Morrin, Arlington, Va.; a son, Thomas R. Morrin and his wife Debra C., South Pymatuning Township; two sisters, Mildred Hittle, Greenville; and Lucille Ellison, West Middlesex; two brothers, Raymond E. Stainbrook and his wife Ruth, Charleston; and Gerald Stainbrook, Hermitage; and three sisters-in-law, Wanda Stainbrook, Mercer; Delores Stainbrook, Sharpsville; and Patricia Stainbrook, Las Vegas.

She will be sadly missed by her two surviving grandchildren, Jared Michael Morrin and Kara Nicole Morrin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Floyd, Robert and Richard Stainbrook.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. Thursday (5-15-14) in Church of Notre Dame, 2325 Highland Road, Hermitage, with Rev. Jeffery J. Noble, pastor as celebrant. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery, Hermitage.
