John Jeffrey ‘Skinny’ Costello

CCL Container retiree, enjoyed hunting, fishing


- — John Jeffrey “Skinny” Costello of Masury passed away at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, in his home, after a four-month courageous battle with cancer. He was 63.  

Mr. Costello was born July 3, 1950, in Sharon, a son of John F. and Betty Stewart Costello. He was a lifelong area resident and a 1968 graduate of Sharon High School.

Jeff retired in 2007 from CCL Container, Hermitage, where he had been employed for several years. He previously worked for the former General American Transportation Corp., Harper and Houston Construction and as a truck driver for PI & I Motor Express.

An outdoorsman, Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to the family camp in the Allegheny Forest. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.  

Surviving are: three daughters, Jennifer Katich and her husband Michael, Deerfield, Ohio; Maggie Coonce, Canfield, Ohio; and Amanda Brady and her husband Dan, Berlin Center, Ohio; his companion, Tina Capozzoli; two sisters, Patty Mattson and her husband Bruce, West Middlesex; and Carol; a brother, Greg Costello, Sharon; and nine grandchildren, Zachary, Taylor, Jacob, Breanna, Alyssa, Brittany, Emma, Robbie and Jenna.

Jeff was preceded in death by his parents.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
