Barbara Cecelia Ferringer

Springfield Twp. resident worked in variety of jobs


- — Barbara Cecelia Ferringer of Leesburg-Grove City Road, Springfield Township, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2014. in Grove Manor, Grove City. She was 83.

Mrs. Ferringer was born Feb. 2, 1930, in New Bethlehem, Pa., to Frank A. Reese and Ethel Bowser Reese.

Her husband, Noah William Ferringer, whom she married Oct. 18, 1947, preceded her in death Sept. 30, 2013.

She was a homemaker and had previously worked at the former Milan’s Restaurant, Exxon Service Station, Krystyak’s Service Station and Burger King, located in the food court at Prime Outlets, all Springfield Township.

She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.

Survivors include: three daughters, Peggy A. Gibbons and her husband John, New Castle; Vicki J. Moore and her husband James, Mercer; Melissa R. Ferringer, Erie; two sons, William B. Ferringer; and Charles A. Ferringer and his wife Ruth, all Mercer; two sisters, Bonita “Bonnie” Troup and her husband Earl, New Bethlehem; and Lorraine Heppler and her companion Dave, Sligo, Pa.; two brothers, Donald Reese and his wife Rosanne, California; and Carl Reese and his wife Nancy, New Bethlehem; and 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Linda L. Ferringer; and four brothers.

Calling hours: Family will receive friends from 4 p.m. to time of service Friday (1-24-14) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME OF LEESBURG, 1778 Perry Highway, Springfield Township.

Service: Funeral services at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. August Hurst, pastor of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Lackawannock Township, presiding.

Interment: Carpenter Cemetery, Springfield Township.
