Devonne Sue Carroll

Grace church member worked for Orchard Manor


- — Devonne Sue Carroll, 16 Maple Terrace Drive, Pine Township, passed away at 3 p.m. Saturday (11-16-13) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township, with her family by her side after an extended illness. She was 58.

Born Nov. 5, 1955, in Grove City, she was a daughter of Paul R. and Juanita J. Park Ohler.

She attended Lakeview High School.

Mrs. Carroll worked in the dietary department of Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Grove City, for more than 20 years.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Grove City.

Sue enjoyed cooking and going to the casino. Most of all she loved to take care of her family and will be sadly missed.

Her husband, Gary V. Carroll, whom she married June 8, 1974, preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1993.

Survivors include: three sons, Ryan L. Carroll and his wife Cherine, Travis P. Carroll, and Jerrett L. Carroll, plus two grandchildren, Michael and Russell Cyphert, all Grove City; her mother, Juanita Ohler, a sister, Anita Ohler, and a brother, Lonnie Ohler and his wife Karen, all Stoneboro; her father-in-law, Charles Carroll, and a sister-in-law Jill Carroll, also Grove City; and a sister-in-law, Christine Teare and her husband Bud, Marion, Ind.

She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Gary; and her grandparents, Thomas and Margaret Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests material contributions be made to the funeral home to help defray expenses.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (11-20-13) in SCOTT A. BLACK FUNERAL HOME, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.

Funeral and committal services: 8 p.m. Wednesday (11-20-13) in the funeral home with Dr. Bud Teare, deceased’s brother-in-law, officiating.

Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Township.
