Dorthea M. Whippo, West Middlesex, passed away at 9:05 p.m. Tuesday (3-26-13) in Avalon Springs Nursing Home, Mercer, following an extended illness. She was 63.

Ms. Whippo was born on Aug. 16, 1949 in Hadley to Boyd Whippo and Lucinda Anthony Whippo.

She worked at Orange Village Care Center for most of her life handling office work for ordering, restorative care, and other things. Ms. Whippo was a devoted member of West Middlesex Wesleyan Methodist Church and enjoyed activities like ceramics, fishing, crocheting, and solving puzzles.

Ms. Whippo is survived by: two brothers, Paul Whippo and his wife Gloria, Hermitage; and Charles McCurdy and his wife Flo, Masury.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, DeVere McCurdy and Carl Whippo; and two sisters, Alberta Stafford and Opal Johnson.
