Elizabeth ‘Liz’ R. McCreary

School cafeteria employee had worked variety of jobs


- — Elizabeth “Liz” R. McCreary of Hermitage passed away at noon Thursday April 17, 2014, in her home following a bout with cancer. She was 53.

She was born Jan. 19, 1961, to Walter D. and Florence A. (Evanich) White in Pittsburgh.

Elizabeth graduated from Hickory High School.

On Dec. 23, 1981, she married Richard A. McCreary, who survives at home.

Elizabeth worked for D’Onofrio’s Food Center and Denny’s restaurant, both Hermitage; and MCAR, Wesex Corp. and, most recently, as a cafeteria worker for Hermitage School District.

She was of the Protestant faith.

Elizabeth canned all her own vegetables and enjoyed working outdoors in the garden, cooking, camping and traveling west to Wyoming and Colorado. Most important to Liz was spending special time with her daughter, Jessica.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Richard; and her daughter, Jessica L. McCreary, both at home; her mother, Florence A. Sollance, Hermitage; and her sister, Lois A. (Robert) Brewer, Jamestown. Also surviving are brothers-in-law, uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter D. White; her stepfather who helped raise her, Christopher Sollance; and her grandparents.3x 4-19 4-20 4-21 sherman 724-854-4613
