Donald M. Squires

Grove City-area man was carpenter, active in church


- — Donald M. Squires of Nutt Road, Pine Township (Grove City), passed away at 6 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2014, in Trinity Living Center, Grove City, after a lengthy illness. He was 67.

Mr. Squires was born Jan. 3, 1947, in Grove City to Robert L. and Norma Jane Dunn Squires.

He retired as a carpenter.

Mr. Squires served in the Army from 1966 to 1968, stationed in Germany.

Active with church work throughout his life, Don was a member of Barkeyville United Methodist Church.

Surviving are: two children, Donald M. Squires Jr., Raleigh, N.C.; and Diane Marie Dean, Wake Forest, N.C.; a grandson, Donovan Anthony Dean, Wake Forest; his mother, Norma Jane Squires, Kansas City, Kan.; three sisters, Patricia S. Fairfield and her husband Donald, Kansas City; Connie Lynn Maki and her husband Del, Missoula, Mont.; and Michelle Covalli, Pittsburgh; a brother, Roger L. Squires Sr. and his wife Margaret F., Mechanicsville, Md.; and numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Robert L. Squires II.


Donald M., 67, Nutt Road, Pine Township (Grove City).

Service: Memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday (4-26-14) in Barkeyville United Methodist Church, 5420 Pittsburgh Road, Harrisville, with the Rev. Mary Ann McConnell, pastor, officiating.
