Delber Raymond ‘Ray’ Thompson

Formerly of W. Middlesex, WE retiree lived in Texas


---- — A funeral service will be Thursday for Delber Raymond “Ray” Thompson, Katy, Texas, who died Saturday (7-27-13) in Legend Oaks Health Care Center, Katy. He was 83.

Mr. Thompson was formerly of Mercer-West Middlesex Road, West Middlesex, having lived there until he moved to Texas 28 years ago.

Ray retired from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Co., then worked for the southwest division of Winner International.

He was married to the former Imogene “Jean” Carol Diegan, who preceded him in death March 13, 2005.

He was proud of his involvement with the Free and Accepted Masons Kedron Lodge in West Middlesex.

He loved cars and country and western music.

He formerly was a member of West Middlesex Presbyterian Church and currently was a member of Heritage Presbyterian Church, Katy.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Winner, Hermitage; and one granddaughter, Megan, Sharon.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Evelyn Laird.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday (8-1-13) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 3126 Main St., West Middlesex. Kedron Lodge will have a Masonic service at 3 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

Service: Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Thursday (8-1-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. Jason Hickman, pastor of West Middlesex Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial: Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
