Fred A. McFadden

- — Fred was born Nov. 13, 1940 in Harrisville to William Carlisle “W.C.” McFadden and Ressa Elvera Phipps McFadden.

He graduated from Grove City High School in 1958.

He married Linda S. Gresock on April 17, 1981.

Fred retired from Cooper Energy Services, Grove City, where he was a general foreman in shipping and receiving.

He served in the Army from 1958 to 1962.  He also served in the Army Reserve Franklin Transport Unit in the 1970s.

He was a member of the F. & A.M. Lodge 603, Grove City. He was also a board member of the Grove City Area Federal Credit Union.

Surviving are: his wife, Linda, at home; four children, Kevin E. McFadden and wife Amy, Enon, Ohio; Vonda K. Lumley and husband Don, Grove City; Keith E. McFadden and fiancée Julie Mayberry, Grove City; and Kraig E. McFadden and wife Tara, Montana; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Helen E. Gales and husband Ronald, Mechanicsville, Va.; also many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; one grandson, Michael McFadden; two sisters, Mae Hawke and Fay Smith; four brothers, Earl, Paul, Bruce and Dale McFadden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to East Main Presbyterian Church, 120 E. Main St., Grove City, 16127.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday (12-9-13) in CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday (12-10-13) in the funeral home with Rev. Bill Hoffman, pastor of East Main Presbyterian Church, officiating.

Burial: Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.
