Benjamin ‘Ben’ Scott Barcheck

2001 Wilmington graduate worked for food packager


---- — Benjamin “Ben” Scott Barcheck of Main Street, Sandy Lake, formerly of Volant, died Monday evening (6-10-13) in his residence. He was 30.

Mr. Barcheck was born Feb. 11, 1983, in New Castle to Walter J. and Linda M. Cooper Barcheck.

He graduated from Wilmington High School in 2001 and was beginning his second year at Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

He formerly worked for Reynolds Food Packaging.

Ben enjoyed helping people; most important was spending time with his two children.

Ben is survived by his parents, Walter and Linda Cooper Barcheck, Volant; his two children, Abigail Barcheck and Jacob Barcheck, both Sandy Lake; his sister, Amanda Barcheck, Volant; his girlfriend, Kara Nalepa; and his maternal grandmother, Sarah Cooper, Volant.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Walter and Mary Papoudjian Barcheck; his maternal grandfather, Lewis E. Cooper Sr.; and his uncle, Larry Cooper.

Calling hours: Private visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday (6-13-13) in SMITH FUNERAL HOME OF LEESBURG, 1778 Perry Highway, Springfield Township.

Service: Private funeral services at 1 p.m. Friday (6-14-13) in the funeral home with the Rev. James Lewis officiating.

Interment: Will follow at Carpenter Cemetery, Springfield Township.
