Edward Krauss of Lisbon, Ohio, formerly of Sharon, died Wednesday (7-3-13) after an extended illness, leaving behind his loving companion, Mabel Primm. He was 91.
Born Oct. 26, 1921, in Sharon, Mr. Krauss was a son of George and Katherine Letzner Krauss.
He was a graduate of Sharon High School.
Mr. Krauss retired from the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. in 1983 after 41 years service.
An avid walker, dancer and bicyclist, Edward was frequently observed by local residents cycling through Buhl Park.
He had been married to Rose Marie Battyanyi Krauss, who is now deceased.
Surviving are: a son, Edward George Krauss and his companion Barbara Mathis, Florissant, Mo.; a daughter, Nancy Lee Krauss Gallagher, Pasadena, Calif.; a granddaughter, Maura Rose Gallagher, Las Vegas; two brothers, Walter Krauss, San Diego; and Paul Krauss and his wife Alice, Newark, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces and nephews throughout the Shenango Valley area.
Mr. Krauss was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Katherine Krauss Swenningson; and five brothers, George, Albert, Francis, William and Richard Krauss.
