David L. Coulter

Truck driver belonged to Stoneboro Methodist


---- — David L. Coulter, Stoneboro, passed away Wednesday evening, Aug. 7, 2013, while en route to UPMC Northwest, Seneca, after an extended illness. He was 79.

Born July 15, 1934, in Grove City, he was a son of Robert J. and Grace E. Ramsey Coulter.

He was a 1952 graduate of the former Sandy Lake High School.

David was a truck driver all of his working life. He began as an independent owner/operator for several years and then drove for Chadderton Trucking of Wheatland for many years, retiring from U.S. Bulk, Cochranton, in 1995. He was a member of Teamsters Local 261, New Castle.

He was a member of Stoneboro United Methodist Church.

David loved going to truck and tractor pulls. He enjoyed his family, especially his grandchildren.

His wife, the former Patricia A. Collins, whom he married May 5, 1962, survives at home.

Also surviving are: a daughter, Lori A. Coulter Leininger, New Bern, N.C.; and a son Bennett D. Coulter, Utica; and two grandchildren, Jared Coulter and Jordan Coulter, Mercer.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; a sister, Marge Coulter; a brother, Bobby Coulter; and a son-in-law, Al Leininger.

Calling hours: 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday (8-10-13) in the Scott A. Black Funeral Home, 99 Franklin St., Stoneboro.

Funeral and committal services: 1 p.m. Sunday (8-11-13) in the funeral home with Rev. Susan M. Hoover, pastor of Methodists United in Faith, Stoneboro, officiating.

Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Township.
