---- — Mary Ann Subasic of Hermitage passed away at 3:35 p.m. Thursday (8-8-13) in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness and battle with cancer. She was 67.

Mary Ann was born July 1, 1946, to Joseph E. and Mary Wenrich Scarmack in Sharon. She graduated from Hickory High School, Hermitage, and worked as a visual inspector for Ohio Star Forge for 15 years until her retirement in January 2012.

She married Warren Subasic on Aug. 10, 1968. He passed away Jan. 24, 1998.

She is survived by: two daughters, Lori L. and her husband, Michael Hillman, and Beth A. and her husband, Michael Barlett, all Hermitage; a sister, Phyllis J. and her husband, the Rev. Robert Brest, Bradford, Pa.; a brother, Joseph E. Scarmack Jr. and his wife, Sheryl, Hermitage; two granddaughters, Kendrah and Kerah Hillman; and five nieces and six nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
