Ronald J. Reed

Ex-Hubbard man, minister worked at GATX, drove bus


---- — Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (8-17-13) for Ronald J. Reed of Epsom, N.H., formerly of Hubbard, who passed away Saturday (8-10-13) at Concord Hospital, Concord, N.H. He was 84.

Ronald was born June 21, 1929, in Sharon to Fay and Mary Rice Reed.

He was a 1947 graduate of Hubbard High School. In 1965 he graduated from Kentucky Christian College with a bachelor’s degree.

He was a minister at Rogers Christian Church and Penn Line Church of Christ, and also worked at the former Masury plant of General American Transportation Corp. He also was a bus driver for Brookfield Local School District.

He was a member of Corner House Christian Church in Hubbard, where he had served as an elder, church board member and assistant financial secretary.

He was a veteran of the Marine Corps.

He will be sadly missed by his daughter, Debra Sue Reed, Epsom; and a sister, Rosemary Matters, Transfer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Eleanor; his second wife, Norma; a sister, Stella Jean Reed; and a brother, Charles O. Reed.
