Daniel A. Buzzeo

WWII veteran was auto body repairman for Stupka


---- — A memorial service will be held Monday for Daniel A. Buzzeo of John XXII Home, 2250 Shenango Valley Freeway, Hermitage, formerly of Riverview Manor, 15 W. Connelly Blvd., Sharon. He passed away peacefully at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. He was 91.

Mr. Buzzeo was born Feb. 2, 1922, in Farrell, a son of Carlo and Michaeline DePreta Buzzeo.

He served in the Army during World War II with the 42nd Rainbow Division, earning two Bronze Stars and the Victory Medal.

Dan had worked as an auto body repairman at the former Stupka Auto Body in Sharon, retiring in 1987.

He was a member of the Italian Home and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5286, both Farrell; and American Legion Post 299, Sharon.

Dan enjoyed music and dancing.

He is survived by his daughter, Tresa Shelton and her husband Michael, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Daniel C. Buzzeo, Sharon; and David Buzzeo, Houston; a grandson, Gregory Shelton, Colorado Springs; along with two brothers, Michael and Patrick Buzzeo, both Hermitage.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joseph and William Buzzeo; and three sisters, Ann Fannone, Mary Varricchio and an infant sister.

Service: Memorial service at 10:30 a.m. Monday (8-19-13) in HAROLD W. STEVENSON FUNERAL HOME, 264 E. State St., Sharon, with the Rev. Donald E. Berdis, pastor of Our Lady of Fatima-St Ann’s Church, Farrell, officiating.

Interment: St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Hermitage.
