Robert ‘Bob’ Stephen Mott

Plumbers union business manager served in Navy

- — Robert “Bob” Stephen Mott of Hermitage, formerly of Sharon, passed away at 3:31 a.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System after a brief illness. He was 87.

Mr. Mott was born Oct. 17, 1926, in Rosston, Pa., to Milo Otto Mott and Viona Mae Klingensmith Mott.

He graduated from Sharon High School in 1944.

Bob worked for more than 40 years in the plumbing trade before becoming the business manager of Local 197 of Plumbers and Steamfitters union when it merged with Local 47. He became one of its business agents and retired in 1989, subsequently receiving his 60-year pin in 2007 from Local 47.

Mr. Mott served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946.

He enjoyed camping, hunting and spending time with his family and his dog, Ashleigh.

Surviving are: his wife of 65 years, the former Pauline Jeanne Berwing, whom he married Aug. 31, 1949, at home; two daughters, Linda D. Carl, Hermitage; and Kristina “Tina” G. Mott, Transfer; two sons, Timothy D. Mott and his wife Debra, and John A. Mott and his wife Heather, all Fredonia; two brothers, John L. Mott, Mercer; and David S. Mott, Sharpsville; his grandchildren, Melissa Clawson and her husband Darren, Robert “Robbie” M. Mott and his wife Brandi, Jayson A Mott, Nicholas J. Mott, Leesa M. Mott, Rachel A. Wansor, Jacob W. Wansor, Ethan K. Mott, Cody A. Mott and Olivia R. Mott; and great-grandchildren, Shayne Clawson, Jenna M. Clawson, Ava M. Mott, Viera Mott and Wyatt W. Wansor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Lara J. Bloomer Mott; a son, Robert Milo Mott; a sister, Evelyn S. Mott Uber; and a brother, Edward H. Mott.

Burial: Cremation in JOHN FLYNN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY Inc., 2630 E. State St., Hermitage, followed by burial of cremains in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
