Edward E. Webster Jr.

Retired truck driver served with Marines


---- — Edward E. Webster Jr. of Hermitage, known as “Big Ed,” died Friday (6-28-13) at his camp in Espyville. He was 66.

He was born in Sharon on March 12, 1947, a son of Edward E. Webster Sr. and Angeline Ardeno Webster. He was a 1965 graduate of Brookfield High School.

After high school, Edward joined the Marine Reserves in 1966 with Thomas M. Garish, Ronald Germadnik, Gary J. Jenkins and Edwin M. Martof. He spent six months in active duty and 5è years in the Reserves.

He married his wife, Donna Kocholek Ekis-Webster, on Oct. 18, 1990.

He was a truck driver for the former Sharon Steel Corp.’s Farrell plant for 27 years and for Strimbu Trucking Inc. in Brookfield. He retired from MHF Inc. in Zelienople.

Edward enjoyed spending time with his family and watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he was an avid Harley-Davidson fan. He liked to spend his time camping and fishing. He also had a love for the family cats.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Kocholek Ekis-Webster; two sisters, Georgene and her husband Ray Kurpe, Columbus, Ohio; and Robin and her husband Kevin Powell, Hubbard; two daughters, Alissa Webster, Sharon; and Cathy and her husband Gary Schatzel, as well as their two sons, all of Brookfield; two stepsons, Christopher Ekis, Grove City; and Scott Ekis, Hermitage; two nieces, Rachel Kurpe and Nicole and her husband Nick Tousian and their son Zac, all Columbus, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Angeline.
