Ex-Sharon resident was operator, dental assistant


---- — Shirley L. Heeter, 84, of Palm Coast, Fla., formerly of Franklin and Sharon, passed away July 1 in Florida Hospital Flagler in Palm Coast.

Born Dec. 31, 1928 in Franklin, Shirley was a daughter of the late William A. and Edna M. Blair Cotterman.

She was a 1946 graduate of Franklin High School.

Shirley was married to Ronald J. Heeter, who preceded her in death.

She worked as a telephone operator for General Telephone and also as a dental assistant for Dr. James Carrier in Sharon.

Shirley was a member of Hickory United Methodist Church in Hermitage. She belonged to and was active in the Junior Women’s Club in Sharon and the Steelers’ Club in Palm Coast. She was an avid reader and bowler.

She is survived by her sister, Judy A. Gibb and her husband Jack W., Palm Coast; her grandson, Kristopher D. Heeter, Rochester, Beaver County; and her daughter-in-law, Dawn M. Heeter, Sharon. She is also survived by a nephew, Jay J. Gibb, Pittsburgh; two nieces, Marlene R. Gibb, Latrobe, Pa.; and Beth A. Gibb, Port Orange, Fla.; and a great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Craig D. Heeter.
