1975 Sharon grad enjoyed going to garage sales

---- — Funeral services will be Tuesday for Karen Parrish of South Pymatuning Township, who died at 12:10 p.m. Saturday (2-11-12) at home surrounded by her family. She was 55.

She was born Dec. 15, 1956, in Sharon to Harold and Helen (Olshavsky) Bottenfield.

She was a 1975 graduate of Sharon High School.

She worked at what was then Shenango Valley Osteopathic Hospital in Farrell for a short time and left to pursue other interests.

Karen loved spending time with her family and friends, 1970s music, garage saling and, especially, her family vacations at the ocean in Sandbridge, Va.

She is survived by her husband, Carey D. Parrish, whom she married Nov. 10, 1978, at home; her father, Harold Bottenfield, Sharon; Kristin Parrish and her partner Amy Trowbridge, West Middlesex; a son, Jason Parrish, West Middlesex; two sisters, Linda Anton and her husband Philip, West Middlesex; and Cheryl Bacon and her husband Patrick, Hermitage; nieces and nephews, Richard Wilcox and his daughter Adrienne, Alyssa Bacon and her son Dylan Hershberger, and Kayla Bacon, all Hermitage.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and her grandparents, Frank and Eva Bottenfield and Peter and Mary Olshavsky.

Mrs. Cary D. (Karen), 55, South Pymatuning Township.

Calling hours: Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon and 5 p.m. to time of service Tuesday (2-14-12) in John Flynn Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 2630 E. State St., Hermitage. Friends may also send condolences by signing the guest book on line at www. flynnfuneralhome.com

Service: Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. C. Charles Eckles, pastor of I.H.S. Gospel  Ministries, Hermitage, officiating.

Burial: Cremation will follow services in the funeral home crematory.
