Joseph Peidle Jr.

Machinery dealership manager was WWII vet


- — Mr. Peidle was born May 27, 1925, in Sharon to Joseph Peidle Sr. and Margaret Hornyak Peidle.

He was a graduate of West Middlesex High School and Syracuse (N.Y.) University.

Mr. Peidle retired in 1990 as a manager from Ohio Machinery (A Caterpillar Dealer), Cleveland, where he had been employed for 38 years.

An Army veteran, he served from 1945-46 during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 299, Sharon.

He belonged to Church of the Sacred Heart, Sharon, and enjoyed archery.

His wife, the former Evelyn Radish, whom he married Oct. 10, 1959, survives at home.

Also surviving are a daughter, Lorraine Peidle, Burghill; a son, Joseph David Peidle, Boston; and two sisters, Sophie Elliott, Sharon; and Louise Krofcheck, Hermitage.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and a brother.

Service: Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (12-11-13) in St. Michael’s Church, Greenville, with the Rev. V. David Foradori, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment: St. Michael’s Cemetery, Greenville, with committal and military honors rendered by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3374, Hempfield Township.
