Ida Jancso

Lackawannock homemaker was member of WM clubs


- — Ida Jancso, Reiber Road, Lackawannock Township (West Middlesex), died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville. She was 88.

Ida was born July 7, 1925, in Patagonia to John and Christina Major Mogor.

During World War II, she worked at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. She later was a cook at the former Nightingale Inn, Mercer.

She was a member of Lebanon Presbyterian Church, Lackawannock Township, and the Garden Club and Sewing Club, both of West Middlesex.

A homemaker, she married John Jancso Dec. 11, 1948. He passed away in December 1998.

Surviving are: a daughter, Nancy Jancso-Kocarek and her husband Dale, Columbus, Ohio; a son, John A. Jancso and his wife Tricia, West Middlesex; a sister, Marge Jancso and her husband Marton, West Middlesex; and two grandsons, Jonathan and Jeremy Jancso.

Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Helen, Liz, Emma and Julie; and two brothers, Butch and Coleman Mogor.

Services: Memorial service at 1 p.m. Feb. 1, 2014, in Lebanon Presbyterian Church, state Route 318, Lackawannock Township, with the Rev. Augie Hurst, church pastor, officiating.
