Carole D. Brigham

Sharpsville native was retired loan officer in Calif.


- — Carole D. Brigham entered eternal life on Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at home in Menifee, Calif.

Carole was one of seven children born to parents Ernest and Mollie Roberts. She was born and raised in Sharpsville and graduated from Sharpsville High School, class of 1957. She went to work in the savings and loan profession and came to Pasadena, Calif., in 1975 following a job opportunity. Carole worked for 30 years as a loan officer before retiring.

She married the love of her life, George Brigham. Over the years, Carole and George lived in Pasadena, La Verne, Victorvile and, for the past 10 years, Menifee.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband on Christmas Day 2008.

Carole was a beautiful person, inside and out. Her friends and family say she was as sweet as she was pretty. She was a devoted caregiver for George, her husband, for many years. She also was a loving daughter and aunt.

Carole was athletic. She enjoyed golfing and walking regularly. She loved the ocean. She and George frequented Catalina Island over the years and shared many memorable times there together. They also traveled extensively throughout the United States, preferably by rail. She listened to religious hymns. In her retirement, she volunteered at her church. She lived a full, great life.

She is survived by her brother, James Roberts; her sisters, Helen Wareham, Sharon; and the Rev. Faye Barca, Clark; and her beloved yorkie, Barklay.

In addition to her husband, Carole was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Mollie; her brother, J.R. Roberts; and her sisters, Judith Roberts and Donna Mabrey.

Carole will be laid to rest with her husband George at Avalon Memorial Cemetery on Catalina Island.
