Erma S. Koch, 500 Clarksville Road, Hermitage, formerly of Jefferson Avenue, Sharon, passed away peacefully at 10:30 p.m. Sunday (7-13-14) in the hospital of the Sharon Regional Health System. She was 94.
Mrs. Koch was born in Nazareth, Pa., on May 24, 1920, a daughter of Herman A. Pacsi Sr. and Anna Nagy. A life-long area resident, she attended Farrell High School.
Erma was employed as a clerk for Anchor-Rexall Drug Store, on the corner of East State Street and Stambaugh Avenue, Sharon, for more than 30 years, retiring when the store closed. She later went to work as a hostess at the former Rosemont Banquet Center, Sharon.
She was an active member of St. Joseph’s Church and its Women’s Guild. Earlier in her life she was active in the St. Joseph’s School PTA. She enjoyed a good game of cards and playing with her card club.
Her husband, Gilbert F. Koch, whom she married Feb. 28, 1947, passed away Dec. 16, 1974.
Survivors include three daughters, Martha J. Pepe and her husband Anthony, Cove Creek, Ariz.; Linda S. Maul and her husband Gary, Worthington, Ohio; and Rose Marie Neff, Hermitage; a son, Dennis L. Koch and his wife Bonnie, Boardman, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Christian, Michael and Steven Cingolani; Hayden Maul; Allison Maul Glassburn; Angela Pepe; and Adam Neff; and seven great-grandchildren, Connor and Jacqueline Cingolani; Taylor, Zachary and Henry Cingolani; and Rileigh and Jacob Glassburn.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Erma was preceded in the death by a daughter, Sheila M. Cingolani; three brothers, Charles, John and Herman A. Pasci Jr.; and one sister, Mary M. Pasci.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph’s Church, 79 Case Ave. Sharon, PA 16146.
