A Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday (7-2-14) for Margery W. Conlin of Sharon, who passed away Thursday morning, June 26, 2014, in her residence after a period of failing health. She was 93.
Mrs. Conlin was born Aug. 29, 1920, in Farrell, a daughter of Roy and Margery Jones Wallace. She was a 1938 graduate of Sharpsville High School and a 1941 alumna of the former Buhl Hospital School of Nursing, Sharon.
Margery served with the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps during World War II and following her honorable discharge, earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing education from the University of Pittsburgh in 1948.
She was a registered nurse at the Buhl Hospital and for her husband’s private practice. Margery taught nursing at the University of Pittsburgh and Buhl Hospital, where she also volunteered her time for many years.
She was a member of the Mercer County Medical Auxiliary, Sigma Theta Tau Sorority, Honorary Nursing Sorority at the University of Pittsburgh, College Club of Sharon and the former Sharon Country Club. She was a life member of Sharon Regional Health System’s Auxiliary.
Her husband, Dr. Edward F. “Ted” Conlin, whom she married June 21, 1947, passed away Dec. 31, 1998.
Margery was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Sharon. Having converted to Catholicism at the age of 89, she was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, Conneaut Lake. She and her husband had a summer residence at Conneaut Lake for many years.
Surviving are: two daughters, Kathleen A. Conlin, Shelburne, Vt.; and Margaret J. (Peggi) Conlin Paquette, Venice, Fla.; two sons, Edward F. “Ted” Conlin II and his wife Joan, Stow, Ohio; and R. Terry Conlin and his wife Leslie, Conneaut Lake; six grandchildren, Michael Janis and his wife Kae, San Diego; Jennifer Smith and her husband Kevin, Derry, N.H.; Paul Daniel Paquette and his wife Heather, Charlton, Mass.; Meghan Conlin, New York, N.Y.; Maggie Conlin, Stow; and R. Terry Conlin Jr., Conneaut Lake; and three great-grandchildren, James Smith, Kyle Smith and Parker Paquette. he also leaves a sister, Alyce M. Jones, Lighthouse Point, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Ada Wallace, Transfer; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Margery was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Roy, Robert, Jack and David Wallace; and a sister, Dorothy Willaman.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Entombment: St. Rose Cemetery Mausoleum, Hermitage, with military honors rendered by the West Middlesex VFW, Wheatland American Legion and the Farrell VFW Honor Guard.
