A funeral service will be held Saturday for Alma E. Watson Carlo of Sharon. She passed into God’s gentle hands, unexpectedly, Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014. She was 43.
Ms. Carlo was born July 24, 1970, in Sharon, a daughter of James R. Watson Jr. and Ann Dilley Watson.
She was a lifelong area resident and attended Sharon High School.
Alma was an animal lover and advocate her entire life, often bringing home stray puppies and cats as a child. As a teenager, she was a pet groomer for Diane Esposito and worked for the Humane Society, rescuing many types of animals.
She had innate love for the outdoors and loved all of God’s creation.
Alma was dearly loved and will be missed greatly.
Surviving are: her parents, Jim and Ann Watson; and her fiancé, Tom Maryanski, all Sharon; two sons, Charles “Chuckie” Carlo Jr. and his wife Victoria “Tori,” Stoneboro; and Shawn R. Carlo, Farrell; a daughter, Rashell Carlo, Mercer; two grandsons, who were the light of her life, Charles “Bubba” Carlo III and Carter Carlo, both Stoneboro; two brothers, James “JR” Watson III and his wife Susan; and Ziba C. Watson and his fiancée Cristina Eicher, all Hubbard; two sisters, Ann “Annie” Mason and her husband Howard, also Hubbard; and Joyce Merrifield and her husband Steve, Sharon; her former husband, Charles “Charlie” Carlo Sr., Farrell; and several nieces and nephews.
She also leaves her dear friend, Donna Carpec of Sharon, with whom she made her home; the many children and teens she fostered throughout the years; and her beloved pets, far too many to mention.
Alma was preceded in death by her grandparents and great-grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shenango Valley Animal Shelter, 2599 Broadway Road, Hermitage, PA 16148.

Service: Funeral service at 5 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel for family and close friends with Pastor David Drake officiating. At the family’s request, everyone attending is asked to dress casually.
