William Kashmer

Masury man worked 42 years for Sharon Tube


- — William Kashmer, a resident of Masury, passed away Monday morning, Jan. 20, 2014, in St. Joseph Emergency and Diagnostic Center in Andover. He was 76.

Mr. Kashmer was born Feb. 26, 1937, in Sharon, a son of George Kashmer Sr. and Frieda Kelly Kashmer.

He was employed for 42 years at the former Sharon Tube Co.

William enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping and gardening.

William is survived by: his wife, Sandy Myers Kashmer, whom he married May 27, 1972; two sons, Shawn Kashmer, and Jamie Kashmer and his wife Jessica, and three daughters, Gidget and her husband James Homer, and Brandy Kashmer and Sandra Byrd-Kashmer, all Masury; six grandchildren, Samantha Shutt-Homer, Niki Homer, Brandon Kashmer, Austin Byrd, Nathan Kashmer and Mckenna Kashmer; four sisters, Margret and her husband Jack May, Cortland; Helen Kashmer, Morrisville, N.C.; Christine LaRocca, Naples, Fla.; and Edna Riffe, Transfer; and four brothers, Ed Kashmer and his wife Joanna, New York; George Kashmer Jr., South Carolina; Paul Kashmer and his wife Winona, Virginia; and James Kashmer, Sharon.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, William Campbell; three sisters, Catherine Morrison, Mary Doddato and Dorothy Bukovinscky; and two grandchildren, Aidan and Mackenzie.

Service: Funeral service at 3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home officiated by Certified Celebrant Randi Pappa.
