Dennis J. Peruzzi

Local accountant belonged to St. Adalbert’s Church

- — Mr. Peruzzi was born Aug. 30, 1947, in Sharon, a son of Joseph and Emma Pilone Peruzzi.

He was a 1965 graduate of Hickory High School, Hermitage, and earned a bachelor of science degree in finance from Penn State University in 1969.

Dennis was an accountant for more than 40 years and was employed by Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County, Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7599, Reynolds. He previously worked for US Steel, Avanti Automotive Corp., Youngstown; JFS Wealth Advisors, Hermitage; Black Bashor and Porsch, Sharon; and LOOMCO International.

He was a member of St. Adalbert’s Church, Farrell, and a former longtime member of St. Joseph’s Church, Sharon.

Years earlier, he served with the U.S. Army Reserves and was a member of Sharpsville Service Club.

Dennis was an avid Penn State football fan and a proud lifetime member of the Penn State Alumni Association.

He treasured the time he shared with his family, particularly his grandchildren, and enjoyed playing cards. He will be remembered by many as a lovable, caring and generous man with a wonderful sense of humor.

His wife, the former Virginia Kapusta, whom he married Oct. 9, 1972, passed away Oct. 11, 1987.

Surviving are: a daughter, Alyssa M. Brookbank and her husband Christopher, Liberty Township, Trumbull County; a son, Brett J. Peruzzi and his fiancée Markie Negrea, Hermitage; a sister, Pamela Isbell, Jacksonville, Fla.; and two grandchildren, whom he adored, Ethan and Anna Brookbank.

He also leaves a “lady friend” Suzanne Melia, Poland, Ohio; and two cousins, Robert Peruzzi, Hudson, Ohio; and Billy Peruzzi, San Francisco.

Besides his wife, Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Verna Gaborko Peruzzi; a brother-in-law, Attorney Robert H. Isbell; and his mother- and father-in-law, Angie and Walter Kapusta.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Community Food Warehouse, 109A S. Sharpsville Ave., or Ann Boyle Memorial Scholarship Fund, in care of Community Foundation of Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio, 7 W. State St., Suite 301, both Sharon, PA 16146.
