Allan H. Nay

Greenville-area man worked at Steel Car, Trinity


- — Allan H. Nay of Fredonia Road, Delaware Township (Greenville), passed away at 7:28 a.m. Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, in his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 66.

Mr. Nay was born June 18, 1947, in Pittsburgh, a son of Francis E. Nay Sr. and Dorothy Ryland Nay.

Allan had been employed by the former Greenville Steel Car and later Trinity Industries, Greenville, until its closing. He then went on to work at Exal Corp., Youngstown, from which he retired in 2009.

He served with the Air Force during the Korean conflict.

Allan was a follower of all Pittsburgh professional sports teams. He enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He always enjoyed the moments he could share with his children and grandchildren.

On Aug. 29, 1969, he married the former Frances E. Weaver, who survives.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, he is survived by: two sons, Chuck Nay; and Todd Nay and his wife Chrissy; and a daughter, Theresa Zachrich, all Greenville; five grandchildren, Tim Zachrich, Victoria Zachrich, Brodie Nay, Parker Nay and Presten Nay; a great-granddaughter, Allison Croll; and two brothers, Thomas Nay, Florida; and David Nay, Oil City.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Frances E. Nay Jr.; and a sister, Mary Alice Fisher.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday (1-30-14) in the funeral home with Pastor Bill Sumners of Crossroads Church, Youngstown, officiating.

Interment: Will follow at Millbank Cemetery, Fairview Township.
