- — LIBERTY TOWNSHIP, TRUMBULL COUNTY – Jean Turose, formerly of Masury, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2014, in Liberty Nursing Home. She was 91 years old.

Mrs. Turose was born July 18, 1922, in Batavia, N.Y., a daughter to Joseph and Jean Mines Vaia.

As a woman of faith in Jesus Christ, she loved life and touched many lives with her encouraging and giving spirit, always concerned about the well-being of others.

Jean was a lifelong resident of Masury before moving to Hubbard in 1997.

She was a 1940 graduate of Brookfield High School and worked at Devine Insurance in Hubbard for many years, retiring in 2011.

Mrs. Turose was a member of Sharon Alliance Church for more than 48 years, serving in Sunday school and the church women’s group.

She was a member of the Thornton Hall Senior Bowling League.

Jean enjoyed family gatherings, travel and capturing every moment of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her camera.

She leaves: her sons, Timothy Turose and his wife Elaine, Hubbard; and Edward Turose and his wife Cindy, Volant; along with four grandchildren, Amy and her husband Travis Fredell, Canfield, Ohio; Theresa and her husband Jaron Burnworth, Volant; Jeff Turose and his wife Becca, Costa Mesa, Calif.; and Dan Turose, Volant; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Ruth Belik, Brookfield.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Michael; her parents; a brother, Ed Vaia; and a sister, Rosemary Laskovics.

The family offers a special thank-you to the staff of Liberty Health care for their compassion and care.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Sharon Alliance Church, 53 S. Oakland Ave., Sharon, PA 16146.
