Doris A. Law of Clarks Mills (New Vernon Township), passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Wednesday evening, Jan. 29, 2014, in Butler Memorial Hospital. She was 76.
Born Feb. 16, 1937, in Jackson Center, Mrs. Law was a daughter of Joseph E. and Bertha L. Pearson McElwain.
She was a 1955 graduate of Lakeview High School.
In her early years, Mrs. Law worked for Dr. Fithian and Dr. Hoyt of Mercer, and for many years served as township secretary for New Vernon Township.
Most of all, Doris was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She and her husband Skip loved to travel and traveled extensively through the years.
She was a member of Clarks Mills United Methodist Church where she had taught Sunday school and Bible school.
Doris loved flowers and for many years worked in the flower department of the Fine Arts Hall of the Great Stoneboro Fair. She also enjoyed reading and sewing.
Doris was a member of the local Forget-Me-Nots.
Her husband, Albert W. “Skip” Law, whom she married Feb. 24, 1956, survives at home.
Also surviving are two sons, David A. Law and his wife Kim, Clarks Mills; and Robert L. Law and his wife Gale, Sandy Lake; a daughter-in-law, Glynis Gilliand, Pittsburgh; six grandchildren, Valorie Law, Decinda and her husband Ryan Williams, Alan and his wife Jenn Law, Chris Law, Jessica and her husband Mike Feltenberger, and Anthony Gesmond; and seven great-grandchildren plus a soon-to-be-born great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her father; her stepfather, James McCauslin; and a son, William E. “Bill” Law.

Interment: New Lebanon Cemetery, Mill Creek Township.
