Mr. McConnell was born May 18, 1933, in Washington Township, Lawrence County, to James N. and Elmyra Kerr McConnell.
Keith was a 1951 graduate of Eastbrook High School and a member of Free and Accepted Masons in New Castle and Scottish Rite’s New Castle Consistory.
Keith was a retired self-employed farmer and a Future Farmers of America Star Farmer and formerly worked at Mesta Machine, New Castle.
He was a former leader of 4-H and received the distinguished service award from the organization.
Keith was a member of Shenango Presbyterian Church, New Castle, and a former member of Rich Hill Presbyterian Church, Hickory Township, Lawrence County.
His wife, the former Millicent M. McGary, whom he married Aug. 4, 1956, survives at the residence.
Also surviving are: a daughter, Barbara Haverty and her husband Jon, Cassadaga, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Dr. Laura Ann Hunter and her fiancé Kyle Covedale, Erie; and Emily Sara Hunter and her fiancé Stephen Mildner, Morgantown, W.Va.; and a sister-in-law, Mary McConnell, Volant.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Walter McConnell; an infant daughter, Mildred, in 1961; and a nephew, Fred McConnell.
