John Kenneth Guscar

Sharpsville man, Vietnam War vet was Sidley retiree


- — A funeral service will be held Saturday for John Kenneth Guscar of Sharpsville. He passed away at 11:50 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. He was 65.

Mr. Guscar was born July 28, 1948, in Pittsburgh to John and Patricia Pochynok Guscar.

John graduated in 1967 from Sharon High School.

He worked for Taylor Concrete and R.W. Sidley Inc. for 37 years, retiring in 2010.

He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Sharon.

As a Vietnam veteran, Mr. Guscar he served in the Navy from 1968 to 1971 and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6404 and American Legion Post 162, both Sharpsville.

John enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

His wife, the former Patricia Miller, whom he married July 30, 1975, survives at home.

He also leaves a brother, Howard Guscar and his wife Elaine, Tipp City, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Timothy Guscar.
