Robert M. Ringer, of 461 W. Butler St., Mercer, passed away at 1:50 p.m. Saturday (2-8-14) in Grove City Medical Center, Pine Township. He was 89.
Mr. Ringer was born April 20, 1924, to Weldon and Evalyn Simpson Ringer.
He was married to Marilyn Joann Evans for 68 years. The couple married on March 22, 1945.
He worked at Reznor for 47 years, retiring in 1986. He was a World War II veteran, retiring from the Navy after enlisting when he was 17.
He was a member of Mercer United Methodist Church and Mercer Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and, in his later years, going to the dog track. He and his wife wintered in Florida for the last 26 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jean Harris; a brother, Junior Ringer; and a great-great-granddaughter, Chloe Star Gelesky.
He is survived by his wife, at home; four daughters, Karen Dragos and her husband Mike, Hermitage; Bonny Perry, Mercer; Cheryl Wiegmann and her husband Thomas, Plymouth, Mich.; and Lisa Wasser and her husband, Jeff, Mercer; two sons, Robert J. Ringer and his wife Nancy, Mercer; and Mark A. Ringer and his wife Joyce, Mercer; and 16 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Wednesday (2-13-14) in the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Leonard, pastor of Mercer United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial: Old Findley Cemetery, Findley Township. Military honors will be given after the service by Wheatland American Legion and West Middlesex VFW Honor Guard.
