Mary Latcheran

Westinghouse retiree was homemaker, played bingo


- — Mary Latcheran, formerly of Colonial Court, Sharpsville, passed away at 3:10 p.m. Friday (2-7-14) in Nugent’s Convalescent Home. She was 99.

Mary was born June 1, 1914, to John and Elizabeth Savko in Farrell.

She attended Sharon High School.

Mary worked at Westinghouse Electric Corp. until her retirement on July 1, 1979.

She was a member of St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Hermitage.

Mary was a homemaker who loved her family and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She also enjoyed playing bingo, was talented with needlework and loved Scottish terriers.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Latcheran; a son, Dr. Ronald Latcheran; a daughter, Maggie Latcheran; and two brothers, Paul Savko and John Savko.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Yvonne Latcheran, Ormond Beach, Fla.; a grandson, Michael Latcheran, Orlando, Fla.; a granddaughter, Hilary and her husband John Brazzell and their children, Carter, Colin and Evan, all Tallahassee, Fla.; and great-nieces and -nephews.
