Randal Evan Blank of Hermitage passed away at 6:55 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, in Suburban General LifeCare, Pittsburgh, after an extended illness. He was 60.
Mr. Blank was born July 11, 1953, in Pittsburgh to Dr. John Blank and Gloria Fisher Blank.
Randy graduated in 1971 from Hickory High School, Hermitage, then graduated from Ohio University with a bachelor of arts degree in English. He continued his education by receiving two masters degrees, one in statistics from Baruch College-City University of New York, and another in developmental psychology from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York.
While living in New York, he did statistical models for J.P. Morgan Chase Co. and was an independent consultant in statistical information.
Randy enjoyed billiards, reading and music. He loved spending time with his many close friends, with whom he loved to laugh.
Surviving are: his parents, Hermitage; a companion, Donna DeRose, also Hermitage; a daughter, Emma Krenzin, Santa Barbara, Calif.; a son, Ean Krenzin-Blank, Carmichael, Calif.; his sister, Christine Blank, Pennsylvania; three brothers, Dave Blank and his wife Sandra, India; and twins, Bruce Blank and his wife Anita, Maryland; and Brian Blank and his wife Mary Sue, North Carolina; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Blank.
