Mercer-area man worked at Springfield restaurants

- — Michael Lee Stevenson of Findley Township (Mercer), passed away unexpectedly at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014. He was 35.

Mr. Stevenson was born April 28, 1978, in Pine Township, a son of Mary Jane Stevenson and Frank Ashbaugh.

He attended Mercer High School and graduated from New Castle School of Trades, becoming a certified electrician.

He was employed at My Brothers’ Place Restaurant and had been previously employed by Rachel’s Road House, both in Springfield Township.

Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will be deeply missed by all of those who knew him.

He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and achieved a black belt in taekwondo. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.

Survivors include: his grandmother, Minnie Stevenson, with whom he made his home; two sons, Evan A. and Ethan M. Stevenson, both Mercer; a sister, Michele Stevenson, also Mercer; a brother, Tim Stevenson, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two uncles, Lee Stevenson, Mercer; and James “Bo” Stevenson, Grove City; and a niece, Kamiah Savage; and nephew, Avante Hall, both Mercer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandfather, James Stevenson; and two aunts, Shirley Clark and Peggy Williams.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family.

Service: Funeral services at 7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Thomas Gomola, pastor of Leesburg Presbyterian Church, officiating.
