Virginia C. Garrett, formerly of Bechtol Avenue, Sharon, passed away at 7:42 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in Nugent Convalescent Home in Hermitage. She was 95.
Mrs. Garrett was born Nov. 11, 1918, in Cleveland to Edgar and Mary White Green.
Virginia worked for more than 35 years at Crystal Cleaners and later People’s Cleaners in Sharon.
She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Sharon.
Virginia enjoyed walking in Buhl Farm park, knitting, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who had a great faith in God and always put others’ needs ahead of her own.
Her husband, Carl Garrett, whom she married July 5, 1940, preceded her in death June 11, 1980.
Virginia is survived by: a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine M. and Dick Schubert, West Middlesex; a son and daughter-in-law, Vince and Janet Garrett, Hermitage; three granddaughters, Brittany Schubert, Heidi Miklos and Amanda Torr; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Landen Torr; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Green and Phyllis Baun, both Hermitage; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Carol Newlan; a grandson, Todd Vincent Garrett; and a brother, Bud Green.

Service: Funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday (2-17-14) in the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Terry Mann, pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Sharon, officiating.
Interment: Will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hermitage.
