Dorothy Marie Thompson

Hermitage woman attended county churches


- — Dorothy Marie Thompson of 380 Rexford Drive, Hermitage, died at 2:44 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, in St. Paul’s Continuing Care Center, West Salem Township. She was 92.

The eldest of five children, Mrs. Thompson was born at home on Feb. 24, 1921, to Clifford Derwood Foy and Anna Mae Moyer Foy of Stoneboro.

She was a graduate of Sharon High School.

Throughout her lifetime, Mrs. Thompson attended Lakeside Evangelical Congregational Church in Pymatuning Township; First Church of God in Grove City; and Shenango Valley Church of God, now The Valley Church, Hermitage.

Widowed in 1969 with the death of her first husband, John Frederick Donaldson of Sharon, she married James Clinton Thompson of Grove City, who preceded her in death.

Also preceding her were two brothers, William Foy, Rocklin, Calif.; and Harold Clifford Foy, Pulaski.

Surviving her death are two sons, David J. Donaldson, Griffin, Ga.; and Daniel B. Donaldson, Greenville; a daughter, Faith A. Ross, Fernandina, Fla.; and two sisters, Anna Allison, California; and Sarah Bentley, Oregon.

Other family members include five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
